ARNO KARONYAN
Arno Karonyan is a contemporary Armenian artist whose works stand out for their surrealistic, deeply psychological symbolism. He was born on March 13, 1999, in the village of Arshvazag, Lori Province. Having been drawn to painting from childhood, he took his first steps amid the inspiring spirit of rural silence and nature, which later had a profound influence on the formation of his creative language.
He specialized in fine arts, graduating from the Armavir Art College, where his individual approach to color, composition, and symbolism was shaped. His style is clearly connected to surrealist traditions, inspired by Salvador Dalí’s atmospheric and deeply subconscious worlds. In Arno’s paintings, symbolic figures, eyes, and bodies often appear, dissolving into dreamlike scenes and expressing the psychological storms and spiritual cries that surge from within a person.
Currently, he lives and creates in Yerevan, where his art takes shape not only as a visual expression, but also as a path of self-revelation and the search for truth. His creations often touch on themes of the subconscious, spiritual awakening, and confronting the self. This art is at once gentle and harsh, deep and painful—like human reality.
Through the “Karony” brand, Arno presents his works on digital platforms, where art becomes a dialogue—not only through images, but also through texts. He often uses the interpretations of his paintings as an inner voice, which are intertwined with symbolic analyses drawn from biblical, philosophical, or critical perspectives.
His character is expressed in his works through self-criticism, devotion that reaches the essence of thought, and an honest voice from the depths of the inner world. He has no superficial approaches. He believes that art must move, disturb, make one think, or even cause pain—if it helps a person see their true face.
